Three Va. papers team up on book celebrating U.Va. title

College sports fans, and specifically University of Virginia basketball fans, can relive the Cavaliers’ run to the NCAA men’s basketball championship in a new book being published by three BH Media Group newspapers.

The Charlottesville Daily Progress, the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Roanoke Times have partnered on the commemorative book.  So far, it has sold more than 3,400 copies via preorder and more than 300 mail-in orders.

The book is a collection of stories and photos by staff members from each newspaper over the course of the 2018-2019 season, including the conference and NCAA tournaments. Stories from Daily Progress sports writers Josh Needelman and Ron Counts and images by Charlottesville photographers Zack Wajsgras and Andrew Shurtleff serve as the core of the book’s content.

Richmond sports writers Mike Barber, Paul Woody and Mike Phillips and photographer Dean Hoffmeyer also contributed content, as did Roanoke columnist Doug Doughty.

The book is the perfect way to savor U.Va.’s remarkable run to the national championship.
