Our Mission

At BH Media Group, we believe in the power of local media to keep people informed and we believe in the importance of fact-based journalism as a public service.

In the words of our Vice President for News Mike Reilly:

"Our most vital role is that of watchdog for the public’s interests. We look out for wrongdoing and wrongheadedness and protect your right to know, holding accountable government and other important institutions. We’re not lap dogs on some public issues and attack dogs on others.

We are watchdogs."

To do that, we rely on experienced reporters, photographers and editors generating a news report that informs. We turn to our seasoned account executives and sales managers to provide marketing solutions that help local businesses grow. We look for opportunities to support events and causes that uplift the communities we serve.

Our employees aren’t just part of BH Media, they live and work in your community.

Our History

BH Media Group traces its start to 2011 when Warren Buffett acquired his hometown newspaper, the Omaha World-Herald and its subsidiaries. Since then, the company has expanded to include operations in 10 states.

Today, BH Media owns 31 daily newspapers and their digital sites. The company also has 47 paid weekly newspapers and 32 other print products.

We also operate WPLG-TV, an ABC affiliate out of Miami, Fla.

Across our company, BH Media locations are the No. 1 source for local news in our markets. Our journalists understand the issues facing our communities better than anyone. And our sales professionals help local businesses grow with effective print and digital marketing plans.
